Canton Montessori School, Established 1968

“As I have so often said, it is true that we cannot make a genius. We can only give to each individual the chance to fulfill his potential possibilities.” -Maria Montessori

Canton Montessori School is proud to serve the Greater Canton Ohio area for over 5 decades.  As spring dawned in March of 1968, a group of local parents and community education enthusiasts incorporated the Canton Montessori Association, better known as Canton Montessori School. The goal as set forth in the Articles of Incorporation was to "establish, maintain, equip, manage and operate a school in which the Montessori Method of instruction and education is utilized as promulgated by the American Montessori Society". The goals continue: "to teach, counsel, and otherwise instruct children of all ages according to the pedagogical principles and by means of the apparatus of the Montessori Method, and to do all things permitted by law to train and educate teachers in the Montessori Method."

Today, the school enrolls 124 students serving Toddlers (18 mos - 3 yrs), Pre-Primary (ages 3-6 yrs including Kindergarten), Lower Elementary (Grades 1-3), Upper Elementary (Grades 4-6), and Middle School (grades 7-8).  A proud member of the American Montessori Society (AMS), Canton Montessori School remains true to its founders vision by continuing to deliver premier Montessori education to its students, families, faculty and staff.
